 As
a little girl Lori used an old wooden hay trailer to practice
for the beauty pageant she dreamed of being in. Her story of
achieving that dream over 25 years later is magical, but not
without the trials and setbacks that every person can relate to.
College,
marriage, and a career working with husband Carl, kept her more
than busy, as the dream lay on the shelf collecting dust. After
nine years of marriage, Rachel and then Luke were born to the
happy couple. Children change our lives in so many ways but
nothing like the new mother was expecting. With the birth of
both of her children, Lori had severe post-partum depression and
psychosis. The illness left her physically, emotionally and
spiritually bankrupt.
What
could such a broken vessel possibly have to offer the world or
her little family? The only solution seemed to end the
suffering by taking her own life. But in the midst of her
greatest trial God reached down and performed a miracle in
Lori’s life.
